Congratulations and welcome to the Phoenix Fleet. If this is your first time with us please make sure you read and understand all the guidelines in this document as it will assist you in advancement as well as gaining your own Command. If you are already a Phoenix Fleet Member we appreciate your interest in keeping up with all the exiting changes that are occurring here.
Joining a simm is simple you have probably already have gone though the website and found a simm that you like and placed an application in. Once your application is accepted the Commanding Officer will give you your starting rank. The Commanding Officer will look though your character’s biography as well as any history that you put down on your application to determine what your starting rank would be. You will be eligible for promotion once every six months until you reach the rank of Captain. Now this does not guarantee that you will be promoted this means your posting history, quality of your posts as well as your activity on the simm will be taken into consideration. If the Commanding Officer determines that you are promotion worthy you will be promoted one rank above your current rank. However if you are not promoted the Commanding Officer will discuss areas of improvement and assist you with improving yourself so you can get promoted on your next review date.
If you are joining the Phoenix Fleet as a Commanding Officer of a simm you will begin with the rank of Lieutenant Commander or its equivalent rank. As with crewmembers you will undergo a promotion review which will be handled by the Fleet Commanding Officer that you are assigned to. These promotions will be handled once every six months until you reach the rank of Captain. Once that rank is attained you will be eligible for promotion once every year. As with crew members your promotions are not guaranteed many things are taken in consideration for you to be promoted to the next rank such as your posting history, quality of your posts, the activating you show on your simm on top of all that the posting and activity of your crew will also be taken into consideration with your promotions.
Some people may feel our promotion policy might be a bit harsh however the reason we are doing it this way is to make you feel that you have earned the rank you are given and not casually handed to you like it doesn’t mean anything.
After your application is accepted and you are welcomed into the Phoenix Fleet please make sure you go and register on the message board. You can find us located at www.phoenix-fleet.net/forum. Commanding Officers should also make sure they register on the Phoenix Fleet website located at www.phoenix-fleet.net.
Members joining the Phoenix Fleet must be at least the age of 13 without parental consent. As a general rule we do not allow anyone under this age to join any Phoenix Fleet Simulations however the occasional exception can only be made my the Trinity. Simulations in the Phoenix Fleet must post on their website what the age rating of the simm is. Below is an explanation of the age system here in the Phoenix Fleet. PF-13: This means that any member at the age of 13 or above may join this simulation. PF-16: This means that any member at the age of 16 or above may join this simulation. Any member discovered to be under the age of 15 will immediately be terminated from the simm in question PF-18: This means that any member at the age of 18 or above may join this simulation. Any member discovered under the age of 18 will be terminated from the simm and the fleet. These simulations usually contain high levels of profanity and adult content and are not recommended for young members A Commanding officer may place a request to change the age rating to the person in charge of their department commanding officer. However the Commanding Officer of the simm in question must make sure that any members current under the new age requirement are relocated to other Simms in the correct age group.
As a general rule the Phoenix Fleet does have a more relaxed requirement when it comes to posting every month. While our primary rule is to “Post and Post Often” and of course wishing for the success of the simms as well as the fleet as a whole we know that people have lives outside of the Phoenix Fleet and want you to enjoy them as much as you enjoy posting with us.
Members of a Phoenix Fleet simm are required to post at least one (1) mission post or personal log per week or a total of four (4) mission posts or personal logs per month. If a member finds out that due to their out of fleet responsibilities conflict with being able to post this amount must immediately contact their commanding officer and request that an exception be filed . These exceptions will then be submitted to the Trinity and will more then likely be approved.
Members who are unable to continuously keep up with the posting requirements and do not have an approved exception on their record will have “strikes” placed against their record. If you receive your first strike for non posting or activity a strike will be issued and you will receive a formal warning by the Commanding Officer via private message on the simm. A second strike will be issued if this continues for thirty (30) days past the first strike. If you receive your second strike you will be demoted one rank and will not be eligible for promotion on your next anniversary date. A third and final strike given sixty (60) days after your first strike your membership in the simm will be suspended for thirty (30) days along with a loss of one rank and you will not be eligible for promotion for twelve (12) months A fourth and final strike will result in your immediate dismissal from the simm and you will not be eligible to join another Phoenix Fleet Simm for a period no less then six (6) months.
The Phoenix Fleet Commanding Officers are required to file a report once a month on the status of their simm as well as the crew. This report is accessible via the Phoenix Fleet’s Website user control panel. The reason for this report is to let the Trinity, as well as the Departmental Head for the genre you are in know the status of your simm at the end of the calendar month.
The Simm report must be filed on the twenty eighth (28th) of each month. If you are going to be away and unable to complete your report on time you may request an extension to the last day of the month. This extension must be approved by the Trinity. Once your report is filed we suggest that you give your crew the remainder of that time off to recharge the batteries so to speak and prepare for the continuation of your mission or to start a new mission, however please note that this is only a suggestion and you are welcome to continue your posting however those posts made after the report will not be counted on the report once its sent.
